Gemfields has introduced that it’ll supply a broader vary of secondary-type materials at
its forthcoming mixed-quality ruby public sale in June 2025.

The public sale will embrace rubies recovered from a more recent part of its Mozambican mine that has not beforehand been represented at public sale in significant portions and with a notable 36-carat ruby forming a part of the providing.

This part lies inside the concession of Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM), which is positioned within the Montepuez district of Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique.

Gemfields said that the rubies just lately recovered from this newer part of the mine exhibit noticeable variations in traits in comparison with the secondary-type rubies which it has delivered to market.

Adrian Banks, managing director for product and gross sales at Gemfields, stated: “It’s thrilling
to see the evolving number of rubies being recovered by Montepuez Ruby Mining. I’m notably desperate to see how a single fine-quality ruby weighing 36 carats will carry out at our public sale. I imagine this ruby will likely be strongly contested by discerning purchasers who recognise the rarity and significance of such a gemstone, given each its dimension and high quality.”

The upcoming completion of a brand new 400 tonne-per-hour ore processing plant will triple MRM’s through-put capability.
