“Whether or not I’m working in sculpture, ceramics or clothes, I’m considering shifting context — breaking hierarchies between disciplines. Repossi offered an area the place jewelry may operate as each object and art work.”
Gaia Repossi, inventive director for restricted editions, stated the collaboration extends the maison’s historical past of working with up to date artists, following earlier tasks with figures comparable to Robert Mapplethorpe.
She stated: “I’ve lengthy been drawn to Sterling’s work. His use of color, aesthetic rigour and distinctive visible language have at all times resonated with me. Working with him has been a profound dialogue grounded in mutual respect and a standard dream of what this piece may turn out to be.”
