Aotearoa Jewelers Combined It Up with Munich Style College students
For me, one of many standout reveals at this 12 months’s Munich Jewellery Week was Goodness, a collaboration between jewelers from Aotearoa New Zealand and college students from the Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode, the town’s faculty for trend design.
Twenty-six items of knickknack have been displayed on a set of capes hand constructed from pure calico by a bunch of first-year college students. Their designs have been fantastically made, and creative. Cape-making is a job routinely given annually to college students at the beginning of their course.
The jewelers represented at Goodness have been a mixture of rising and established makers. The items themselves signify a choice of work created over the previous 20 years.
